The TJA office is calling for papers in the 4th issue of TJA Newsletter. It will be released in September, 2022.

We invite all scholars, experts, and practitioners in the universities of Taiwan and Japan Alliance to submit your papers with relevant topics to the TJA newsletters editorial board. We also welcome project-level research outcome articles investigating the relevant research topics, and any articles on behalf of your universities in introducing university-level USR academic and research works.

The instruction for paper submission is as followed,

1. Newsletters Sections: We are calling for papers in the following sections: (1) Short Research Articles, (2) People, (3) TJA News and Activities, (4) Experience Sharing and Viewpoints, (5) Reviews.

i. Short Research Articles

We are calling for short papers on topics for the first issue include (1) Innovation in university governance and higher education, (2) innovation in local industry development, (3) connection between local business development and universities, (4) innovation in teaching practice, and (5) international cooperation and connection in innovative social practice.

Suggested word count: 3,000-5,000 (Chinese and English 3,000 and Japanese 5,000)

ii. People

We are calling for Interview articles on the academic or educational achievements of scholars, lecturers, university faculty members, experts, practitioners, or partners who are with abundant social practice experiences in the industries, government agencies, NGOs, and NPOs.

Suggested word count: 2,000-3,000 (Chinese and English 2,000, and Japanese 3,000)

iii. TJA News and Activities 

We are calling for activity report articles on workshops, conferences, lectures, program courses, community activities, including activities held recently (within the recent three months) and upcoming academic activities (in three months) on innovative social practice.

Suggested word count: 2,000-3,000 (Chinese and English 2,000, and Japanese 3,000)

iv. Experience Sharing and Viewpoints

We are calling for experience sharing articles among TJA members on university governance, innovative teaching practices, knowledge innovation, interdisciplinary cooperation, and innovative social practice. Suggested word count: 2,000-3,000 (Chinese and English 2,000, and Japanese 3,000)

v. Reviews

We are calling for review articles on new books and emerging issues on social practice and local business development in all disciplines. Suggested word count: 2,000-3,000 (Chinese and English 2,000, and Japanese 3,000)

2. Language: Either Chinese, Japanese, or English is good for submission

3. Writing Style: The submitted papers or articles should include the research topic, authors information (affiliation, title, and email address), abstract (should be less than 500 words in Chinese; 750 words in Japanese) and manuscript with font 12 in context and with single line space. English articles should use Times New Roman. Traditional Chinese articles should use Standard Style Handwriting. Manuscript and references should follow APA 7.

4. Picture and Photo Images: Please provide us at least one photo or picture image per article. The maximum number of pictures and photo images is 8. Photo or picture image should be in PNG and JPG format and the width should be 800px to 2000px.

5. Submission Deadline: July 15th, 2022

7. Reviewing Process and Publication Date

  • Deadline for submission: Jul. 15th 2022
  • Reviewing process will be finished by Jul. 29th 2022
  • Authors’ revision will be open until Aug. 8th 2022
  • Final decision will be made by the end of Aug. 2022
  • Publication in the TJA newsletters will be on Sep. 15th 2022
  • Submitted articles will be published after review, and the manuscript fee will be paid
