Kochi
Project Title: NAKAYAMA RE:DESIGN PROJECT
A Community Revitalization Project Starting from a Former School
Nakayama District is a small rural community of about 400 people, based on yuzu and rice farming. With the continuous support of Kochi University, activities that combine education, research, and community service have been developed. These include using a former school as a community center, research on Japan Heritage, care services run by the university’s nursing faculty, student activities, and international programs. Through these efforts, more people are getting involved and connections with the community are growing. By working together with local residents, the project aims to create new local value and build a sustainable rural model.
